A coal mine collapse occurred in Bhowra, Jharkhand, at approximately 10:30 am, yesterday while local villagers were engaged in mining activities. The exact number of individuals killed or trapped in the incident remains unknown, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abhishek Kuma. It has been confirmed that three people lost their lives, and there are concerns that many others may be trapped under the debris. The illegal mine collapse took place in the Bhowra Colliery Area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), located approximately 21 km from Dhanbad. 

Rescue operations are currently underway, led by the police and local authorities, to locate and aid those affected. The police have not provided an official count of the casualties or injuries at this time. However, locals have claimed that three individuals have died, and several others have been injured. The incident is suspected to be a result of illegal mining activities, and an investigation is being conducted. The police have stated that they will provide updates as the investigation progresses.
